Can I register at the door on the day of class?
Not typically. Only if a course is full, may you show up early to the course in hopes that another student is a no-show. In that case, be prepared to pay the $25 registration fee by either cash or check. Walk-ins are accepted on a first come, first served basis so we recommend that you arrive as early as possible to get your name on the walk-in list right away.

Is there another way to register other than online?
No. At this time we do not offer any other form of registration due to our administrative support levels. Individuals who do not have a computer may go to their local library for online access. (See above 'Can I register at the door on the day of class?'.)

Who can I contact regarding registration questions?
All of the information that you need should be answered on this page, or in the course description. If there is something that you are still unsure of, you may email Steve Lick, Program Coordinator, at motorcycletraining@grcc.edu. Please note however, that this program is not staffed full-time. It is administered by a group of people on a part-time basis as a community service to you. While your questions are important to us, it may take awhile to respond to any inquiries.

What kind of motorcycles are used in class?
The motorcycles that we use are all 250cc's or less. Currently, our inventory includes: Suzuki GZ250's, Honda Rebel 250's, Honda CB 125s, and Honda Nighthawk 250's.

What should I wear to class?
The minimum protective gear required for the range is a helmet (properly fitted, DOT or SNELL Rating), long sleeved shirt/jacket, FULL finger gloves, long sturdy pants, boots that cover the ankle (no tennis shoes),and rain gear (if necessary). If it will be hot or wet, layers of clothing seem to work best, and even a change of clothing feels great on some days. You may also want to bring a hat to help protect you from the sun when you're not on the motorcycle. For the classroom portion (the first two days) no special attire is required.

What do I need to bring to class?
Do not forget to bring your Drivers License, Temporary Drivers Permit, or Drivers Education Completion Certificate. We will not be able to submit your records to the State of MI for your endorsement without one of these. Recommended materials for class include a writing utensil (pencil or ink pen), a highlighter, notepad and a good attitude, ready to learn. Some students also bring a lawn chair or folding stool to the range. We will provide some, but if you have one that is comfortable, you might want to bring your own. Don't forget, your completed pre-course assignment (optional.)

    Are snacks or lunch provided?
No. Packing a lunch or snack is strongly recommended. It will allow us to shorten the time required for the break and allow you to get out earlier, or give you extra time for coaching at the end of the day. We will provide a cooler with ice and lots of ice water. We recommend that you bring lots of snacks and drink plenty of fluid to maintain your metabolism and keep you fresh.

Where can I get the pre-course assignment?
The pre-course assignment is available online only. We cannot mail or fax it to you. Click HERE to download the assignment. Please bring the completed pre-course assignment with you the first day of class. (The pre-course assignment is optional.)
