FMEA / Failure modes and effects analysis
Description:
Failure modes and effects analysis (FMEA) is a structured method for identifying potential problems in a product design (DFMEA) or throughout a manufacturing process (PFMEA). Participants work through the development of a Design FMEA and a Process FMEA using Automotive Industry Action Group (AIAG) guidelines. Both the AIAG 4th Edition FMEA Manual and the newer AIAG/VDA FMEA Manual will be covered in the class. Emphasis is placed on understanding the guidelines and FMEA form, maximizing organizational value, team determination of rankings, and linkage to other quality documents.
Participants taking this course with a manufacturing focus, have the opportunity to have 60% of the course cost paid for by the One Workforce Grant. For more information please contact Arika Davis at arikadavis1@grcc.edu or 616-234-3609.
