The GRCC Industrial Sewing Certificate program in partnership with Public Thread has a brand-new curriculum.  The course has in-demand skills desired by West Michigan employers and was developed by the furniture industry. Skilled industrial sewers are in demand. This course is for students interested in sewing as a career or career promotion. This certificate program prepares you for employment in the sewn-product industry.

Students in this program will be trained in the following skills:
  • Sewing Machines (single and double needle) and Serger/Overlocks
  • Introduction of sewing process for production
  • Safety & Ergonomics for Sewing
  • Sewing Math & Measurements
  • Sewing equipment & Operation
  • Spatial reasoning
  • Critical Work Functions
  • Conduct In-line non sewing operations
