Description:

Participants will explore the role lean plays in providing superior customer satisfaction throughout the value chain. Application of the 5 Ps for waste reduction, as well as a systematic analysis of work flow will help students identify processes that provide the biggest return to the customer.

Outcomes:
  • Describe the role lean plays in providing superior customer satisfaction throughout the value chain
  • Apply the 5 Ps to reduce waste and systematically analyze the flow and work on processes that will provide the biggest return to the customer
  • Construct a Value Stream Map for a non-manufacturing VS
  • Conduct value added and non value added analysis
  • Identify waste in Administrative functions
  • Explain how to create flow in a non-manufacturing VS
  • Describe use of lean tools in a non-manufacturing VS
  • List issues and barriers to implementing lean administration
  • Describe steps to implementation planning for lean administration
