Sheriff's Corrections Academy

Description:

The Grand Rapids Community College Corrections Academy provides mandated training for certification as a Michigan Local Sheriff’s Corrections Officer.

The 4-week academy consists of 160 hours of instruction covering 14 training modules required by the Michigan Sheriffs’ Coordinating and Training Council (MSCTC).

The academy utilizes classroom lectures, practical exercises, and physical training.

Successful graduation and certification require 100% class attendance, successfully passing each training module as well as the comprehensive final exam.


Registering does not guarantee a seat in the program. There are specific requirements that you would need to meet. Once you have registered you will be contacted by the Criminal Justice Department.
