Quality Products and Quality Management Systems

Description:

Producing quality products, on time, at quoted cost is essential to a manufacturer's success. How do we define acceptable quality for any product? How do we and our customers determine what's 'good enough'? What controls can we add to maintain our level of quality? This simulation promotes understanding of the value of quality metrics. A quality measurement systems (ISO9001) overview shows a structure to reduce quality issues.

Course Outcomes:

  • Describe purpose and some elements of ISO9001 QMS

  • List specific quality measures used by manufacturers

  • List potential causes of variation (quality issues) for specific manufactured products
