Introduction to Metal Removal / PS1103

Description:

Having a general knowledge of the various tools and methods used for metal removal can dramatically increase a person's ability to problem solve in the manufacturing environment. After taking this hands-on course using manual machines, the student will have an understanding of various manual machining applications such as: grinding, milling, turning & drilling.

  • Job planning and processing parts
  • Understanding how to make a chip
  • Job set-up equipment
  • Proper job set-up
  • Types of manual machines
  • Identifying hand tools


  • Who Should Attend:

    Entry-level machinists, mold-makers, tool & die makers, fixture builders and metal workers with no previous formal machining training will greatly benefit from this course.
