FMEA / Failure modes and effects analysis

Description:

Failure modes and effects analysis (FMEA) is a structured method for identifying potential problems in a product design (DFMEA) or throughout a manufacturing process (PFMEA). Participants work through the development of a Design FMEA and a Process FMEA using Automotive Industry Action Group (AIAG) guidelines. Both the AIAG 4th Edition FMEA Manual and the newer AIAG/VDA FMEA Manual will be covered in the class. Emphasis is placed on understanding the guidelines and FMEA form, maximizing organizational value, team determination of rankings, and linkage to other quality documents.
