Metallica Scholars Introduction to Welding

Description:

This Welding Class will cover the fundamentals of Gas Metal Arc Welding, the most commonly used welding process in Manufacturing and Fabrication.

The fundamentals will include:
  • Safety
  • Machine settings
  • Machine set-up
  • Welding
  • Welding techniques

Students will also be exposed to welding terms, and other welding and fabrication equipment.

These fundamental skills will prepare you for an entry level position in the field of welding. Interviews for employment are part of this unique program and available for those who have successfully completed the program. Additionally, you will receive career coaching and support.

Dress attire: long pants, work shirt, closed toe leather shoes or boots.

School will provide the following for during class:
  • safety glasses
  • welding gloves
  • welding helmet
  • leather jackets
  • *Students may bring their own welding helmets.

Prerequirements:
  • You must be at least 18 years old to enroll in this program.

  • You must have a High School diploma or GED

  • You must be able to work in the United States

Registering does not guarantee a seat in the program. There are specific grant requirements that you would need to meet. Once you have registered you will be contacted by a Career Coach. If you do not get accepted into the program you will receive a full refund.
